Environmental Education

Dates

Position runs from September 1st through late May, with unpaid time-off during traditional Christmas - New Year's holidays.

Salary

$8.45/hour with 30 - 40 hours per week ($254 - $338 per week). Time and a half is paid for over 40 hours. Housing is available for $40 per week in our new staff house (see below). Limited health insurance plan is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Teach environmental education day and evening classes to predominantly 3rd-8th grade students throughout the week days.
  • Maintain teaching laboratories and provide care for educational animals.
  • Assist with facilities maintenance and basic janitorial needs.

Requirements

  • Commitment, genuine interest in child development, dynamic personality, well-developed communication skills, creativity, and leadership ability.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Natural Science, Environmental Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Extensive training is provided upon employment.
