Burton 4-H Center

General Information

The Burton 4-H Center on Tybee Island reaches more than 8,000 students and adults annually through our Environmental Education and Summer Camp programs. Our Environmental Education Program provides biological and environmental education opportunities for school group, while Summer Camp provides Georgia 4-H agents and campers an unforgettable 5-day learning adventure.

Environmental Education

Our Environmental Education program offers hands-on learning experiences for all school types and grades, with a focus on our local coastal ecosystems.  Each year we host thousands of guests from all over the southeast. Our students get to learn about the natural world around them. Summer Camp at Burton

The Burton 4-H Center is one of 5 Environmental Education Centers in the Georgia 4-H program to host summer camps.  Summer Camp at Burton is a week long learning adventure for Georgia 4-H Agents and youth. Please contact your local agent to register.

Facility Rentals

Your Girl/Boy Scouts, School, Church, etc., group can rent our dormitories and classroom spaces for a trip or conference on Tybee Island. You can also register for our hands-on environmental education classes or have food service in our dining hall. For more information, visit our Facilities and Rentals webpage.  There is no public camping at the Burton 4-H Center.  The only public camping on Tybee Island is River's End Campground.
